When we left Sheffield (much earlier than we had planned!), we were both feeling quite bleary eyed. I began the driving and managed two hours and by then, Jen was feeling human enough to take over the driving. It was a lovely trip in terms of scenery and quite easy on the M5. We have a little manual Peugeot and it struggles going up the hills, but we got here. I can tell you that the townhouse we've booked was a sight for sore eyes! It's absolutely gorgeous - over three levels with lovely views of Peebles from the second and third levels. Jen's room is on the top level, mine on the next and there's a great kitchen and living area on the ground floor. We're only around the corner from the shops on the high road so it's all good! It's a far cry from our accommodation in Sheffield!
We plan to spend the day lolling around tomorrow. We're pretty exhausted actually! Jen has a haircut booked for tomorrow and we've decided to treat ourselves to a hot stone massage and facial tomorrow afternoon. One of the beauty parlours has a special deal and with all of the driving and lack of sleep we decided we had earned it!

Hi Jen and Helen. My last comment was scathingly brilliant - but lost in cyberspace! take my word for it! anyway let's hope this one sticks! peebles looks lovely and your accommodation is gorgeous. So glad you can have a good break there. Sounds like you need it. Shame about the smokers in Chester but it adds to the travel tales and is always part of the rich tapestry in retrospect. Not sure if you received the email I sent with a photo of Mum? if not will send again. All is well here and we miss youse too!love
